Jake’s Big Farm Visit! Meeting a Newborn Calf

Jake’s big farm visit was a photo fest of fun! I have to share the photos from his first face-to-face with cows and seeing a newborn calf. Jake’s big question before we got to the field was whether they were meat cows or milk cows. He was glad to hear they were beef cattle! He loves beef and liked learning more.

Our host Frank was nice enough to get out and catch the new calf and although the momma cow stayed close, she was okay with Jake petting the new calf for a minute. But I am thinking we may need to visit a dairy or hog farm to get him a little balance and a little different view of the world!

That is so cool. We take the kids to our county fair each year and so far we’ve been lucky enough to see two newborn calves in the mooternaty barn!!!! It’s pretty amazing…
