Remembering a Visit to Milan’s Duomo

A couple of years ago, friends and I toured Italy together. Our trip ended in Milan and I was reminded of the spectacular duomo (cathedral) there yesterday. I thought the view of it, especially some of the ones taken on the roof may leave you wordless.

I am so glad that you had the fun experience of duomo. Milan is spectacular. Your pictures are fantastic!!!! Thank you so much for sharing.

That was the view I was dreaming of when I arrived for a whirlwind 24 hours in Milan. When I turned the corner into the plaza where the duomo sits, that was … scaffolding! The entire front of the cathedral was covered. Since scaffolding had followed me around Europe, so it shouldn’t have surprised me. But it was disappointing. As I was laying on the roof, looking at that spectacular view, it all became okay.

I then thought, “Wait! La Scala’s around the corner! Let’s go see that!”

I turned that corner … and there was scaffolding. I just laughed.

Oh my goodness! I’ve been there too…. glad you were creative enough to find a way to truly enjoy it, even if the turn around the next corner tried to grab hold of you! LOL

Amazing architecture! I hope to travel to Italy someday. I went to Germany and France several years ago and was astounded by the churches and castles there.
