Spending the Day at Windsor Castle & Catching a Concert There at Night!

In December my sister and I had a chance for a girl’s trip to England. One day while she was at work, I spent the afternoon at Windsor Castle, the weekend home Queen Elizabeth visits so often. When I arrived in town I asked a tour officer what all I should take in and it just so happened that an annual Christmas concert (the music of JS Bach) would be held that night in St. George’s Chapel. So I got my sister to join me for dinner and a concert! What an incredible day! I took too many photos so I’ll just share a few here with a slide show at the end of the post.

I love Windsor Castle. It’s been a long time since I was there but I remember that the Queen was there… the flag was flying. Lovely pictures.

I enjoyed the tour. I was there once for a quick look. I was on business and so didn’t go inside the wall.

I am 72 now, I still love Windsor and its beautiful Castle in the late fifties I use to visit family in nearby Upton Lea and stay for months working on the boats out of Windsor to Maidenhead They were called The Windsor Castle and the Empress of India which I heard sadly burnt. Ah Well Memories now. perhaps one day I shall return. I am now going to paint the castle instead
